Length of Study Programme

An Example of an IDPM Programme Delivery

  • Three Seminars at 18 Guided Learning Hours (54 guided learning hours (glh). Each seminar is designed to prepare candidates for a specific externally examined assignment.
  • Access to email/on-line support for the full duration of the IDPM Programme. Responses to email queries will be posted to the IDPM Website.
  • Three Assignments with approximately 100 self-study hours per assignment (Approx. 300 hrs).
  • Project File developed in the workplace (Approx. 200 hours). The Project File is used to support the Assignments, but is not externally assessed.
  • One to One Tutorials (Approx. 9 hours). All tutorials are formally structured to pro-actively support the externally examined assignment submissions.

The most widely used IDPM Programme is designed with approximately 563 guided and self-study hours, including seminars, over the duration of approximately one year to complete three  assignments. This includes approximately 200 indirect study hours to compile and maintain the Project File. Indirect study hours are likely to integrated with normal working time.

NOTE: Some IDPM Delivery Centres may opt for a fully tought programme, or a day release programme. Please discuss options with your local 4cPM-CIE Centre.

Recognition and Progression

Discussions are taking place with PMI to recognise the IDPM Study Programme against Professional Development Units (PDUs). Further dialogue with several Universities is taking place to integrate the IDPM with MSc programmes in Project Management for candidates who want to progress in Higher Education.
